What makes it worth logging is geography and sequencing. Brain-computer interfaces have been an American story told largely by well-funded private companies; a Wyss Center spinout validating in one of Europe’s leading neurosurgery departments, on an explicit dual EU/US path, is the field acquiring a second centre of gravity. The same Munich department performed Europe’s first microelectrode sensorimotor BCI implant in summer 2025.
