  • Accord BioPharma, the US specialty division of India’s Intas Pharmaceuticals, made two denosumab biosimilars commercially available: OSVYRTI (biosimilar to Prolia) and JUBEREQ (biosimilar to Xgeva), both FDA-approved as interchangeable.
  • Pricing is set at a wholesale acquisition cost of $1,800.41 per 60mg single-dose pre-filled syringe for OSVYRTI and $3,311.75 per 120mg single-dose vial for JUBEREQ.
  • Both are already Preferred on Cigna’s Advantage, Performance and Legacy Performance commercial pharmacy benefit lists as of 1 July, and move to Preferred on the Cigna commercial medical benefit on 1 September. Eligible commercially insured patients may pay as little as $0 through AccordCares.
  • These are the first products developed and manufactured end to end by Intas itself, and Accord’s fourth and fifth biosimilars in the US.
Access read The price is not the news, the formulary position is. Denosumab biosimilars are already crowded, with at least three sets approved in the past year, and in a crowded biosimilar market a lower list price moves almost nothing on its own. What moves share is being the preferred product when a prescription is written, and Accord secured that on Cigna’s pharmacy benefit three weeks before launch, with the medical benefit following in September. Sequencing a launch behind confirmed preferred status, rather than launching and negotiating afterwards, is the discipline that separates biosimilars that take share from biosimilars that merely exist. One exposure worth flagging: these are the first products Intas has developed and manufactured entirely in house, which is a real margin advantage and also concentrates manufacturing in India in the same week Washington threatened tariffs of 100 percent from August 2028 on foreign-made generics. Whether biosimilars fall inside that policy is unresolved, and the answer will matter more to this launch than the list price does.
