GHX and AHVAP Survey Highlights Key Trends in Healthcare Value Analysis
Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) and the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) have released the results of a comprehensive survey analyzing healthcare value analysis (HVA). The findings show that HVA is becoming an increasingly important tool for improving operational efficiency, maximizing patient satisfaction, and managing costs in resource-constrained healthcare settings.
The survey emphasizes the importance of HVA in helping healthcare organizations evaluate products, services, and technologies for clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness. With rising pressures to manage costs while delivering quality care, HVA has become a vital practice. Despite its growing significance, challenges such as physician engagement and potential knowledge drain in the workforce remain concerns. GHX and AHVAP are collaborating to address these gaps and enhance HVA practices.
According to the survey, 72.41% of healthcare organizations have savings targets tied to their budgets, demonstrating the financial importance of HVA in meeting budgetary objectives. However, more than 54% of respondents do not fully understand their organization’s net patient revenue (NPR), indicating the need for financial literacy programs. Adoption of advanced analytics tools, as well as supply chain resilience, are essential for improving financial and operational outcomes.
